Gemini Cat Zodiac painting by Dora Hathazi Mendes.
A new astrology sign to my Cat Zodiac Collection, this time about Gemini kittens. My first though was before I started to plan to this painting, that it would be very simple to paint about two white or black cats as twins. Right? So, what about calico twins, because in nature it would be more difficult to find them with matching dots in three different colors! But you can ask me, are these really calico kittens?! Well, they wanted to be, but fast became polka dot kittens, but this is a great example what happens when my mind and colors go wild under my brushstrokes!
Geminis are Air signs, so paws stretch up to the sky, and I read that the Earth color of Gemini is orange, and the astral colors are red, white and blue. What does that mean exactly, do not ask me, I just know these it looks lovely on this painting!
The painting is made mainly with Ecoline brilliant liquid watercolour, and as usual, the added silver gouache mosaic, and dots will give a sparkling effect to the painting, which you can see only in live, on the original artwork.
