A watercolor painting about a street with hydrangeas, in Marvao Portugal.
Marvão is an enchanting village in the Alentejo region in Portugal, set on a great granite escarpment, one of those old enchanted places in the whole southern Europe which worth a visit .
It is described as an eagle’s nest hidden away in the hills. You will walk here between 13th century walls, with whitewashed houses, narrow streets, and medieval archways, wrought iron balconies, vintage street candles, an old castle which seems rise from a living rock, so practically everything typical from a delightful picture postcard village.

I love the feeling of lightness and expansiveness created by the painting. The bright white sunlight reflecting off the pristine white walls contrasts with the intense blue sky and the pink, red and green of the flowers and bushes. I love the cool blue and grey shadows !!
