Sleeping Beauty - Cat Art by Dora Hathazi Mendes
These beautiful animals sleep average 16 hours a day. Motionless but still alert, having several siestas per day due to the activity of their preferable twilight hours, dawn and dusk.
On my painting letter M is for Macska the Hungarian name of Cat, but as a charming present, can be for Mariah, Madison, Megan, Mia, Myriam, Mackenzie, and for many girls whose name start with letter M.
Cats Sleep Anywhere
Cats sleep anywhere,
any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge,
in the middle, on the edge.
Open drawer, empty shoe,
anybody's lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box,
in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don't care!

Cat Cocktail – Cat art by Dora Hathazi Mendes is a bright, colourful painting about a mixture of cats with different colours, patterns, motifs representing the diversity of this amazing animal species. Cats are in all different patterns, such as striped, floral, dotted, checked, in front of densely decorated background in the idea of “horror vacui” which in visual art mean the “fear of the empty”, thus filling of the entire surface of the artwork with details, in this case bronze mosaic, organic ornaments, floral motifs, star, dots, silver and black chess filed, and a silhouette of a cat’s head. The painting is for instance ideal decoration for child room. My Cat Cocktail painting is part of my Cat Inspired Artwork Colection.

Winged Feline – Cat Art with letter P by Dora Hathazi Mendes. Winged cats appear in mythology and history throughout the centuries. And for centuries they are following us… They are mystical, or even demonic?! Or exactly the opposite, as it seems they were only confirming our destiny. Peace and Love - Cat Art by Dora Hathazi Mendes .

Cat Art titled Blue Tabby by Dora Hathazi Mendes. Let me introduce you the new mutation of the mackerel cat, my Blue Tabby, which is resting lazily in front of orange background with hand painted black mosaic motifs, Art Nouveau style stained glass window, and pink silver dotted frame. The whimsical cat painting is ideal decoration for Catlovers of for kids room.
The European Wild Cat, Felis Sylvestris, has tabby markings as do many examples of the African Wild Cat, Felis Lybica, while others with spotted or agouti (brindled) fur are variations of the tabby stripe. The Wild Cat vertical tiger stripes, from the backbone to the belly, are only one of the patterns recognized by cat-show judges and clubs as a tabby, as well called as mackerel pattern. The other, which they call the standard or blotched tabby, is a more horizontal pattern with three stipes down the spine and an oyster shaped whorl on the flanks. In England the tabby used to be known as Cyprus Cat, suggesting an origin in the eastern Mediterranean. Its pattern is similar to that of watered silk, or taffeta, which is not surprising for both words, taffeta and tabby are said to be derived from Attibiya, the name of district in Baghdad famous for producing that kind of silk. Both kinds of tabby have rings around the tail, bars on the legs, chains across the chest and delicately pencilled markings on the face and forehead. By the middle of the seventeenth century the tabby was already common in Europe where it is seen more frequently than the tiger stripe.
