Description

Sometimes we are searching for beauty in faraway places, just to realize that they are right next to us. My new handmade watercolor painting about a traditional windmill in Portugal, very close to us, near Torres Vedras in Varatojo, called Moinho Da Casaca.

A traditional windmill with characteristic white and blue details stands amid a vibrant garden landscape under a blue sky. A wooden bench and lush greenery complement the scenic, rustic charm conveyed by the windmill's serene surroundings.

The usage of the wind power has a long tradition in Portugal, because of the strong winds coming from the Atlantic Ocean. From the 11th century there are records of the Portuguese traditional windmills, and even today we can visit some working and listen their singing, some transformed into houses, or restaurants, and touristic attractions.
The unique Portuguese Windmills are the example to combine simple beauty with functionality.
