A vibrant castle stands majestically amidst lush greenery, featuring a mix of yellow, blue, and red hues. The structure combines domes, towers, and intricate architectural elements against a backdrop of a clear sky.
In Sintra, near Lisbon, you can find one of the seven wonders of Portugal, and one of the 10 places in world that look like they belong to a fairy tale.
On the highest peaks of the Serra de Sintra in Portugal, stands the spectacular palace of Pena, an eclectic medley of architectural styles built in the 19th century for the husband of the young Queen Maria II, Ferdinand. In Portugal he was known as Dom Fernando II. the Artist King, because he loved art, nature, and the new inventions of the time. He was himself a watercolour painter, and devoted himself in his live patronizing arts.
