Description

My new original handmade watercolor painting about the Arco da Porta Nova on a romantic cobblestoned street with bougainvilleas, located next to the Cathedral in the heart of Faro, which is a seaside city knows for its rich culture and history.
This new gate arch was a part of a reconstruction project which aimed to restore the city after the 1755 earthquake, and it replaced an old gate which existed since the medieval times.
The Arco da Porta Nova also called as Porta do Mar is the third entrance of the city to the old town near the sea.

A narrow cobblestone alley is adorned with vibrant pink and purple bougainvillea flowers cascading from trees along the side. Sunlight gently illuminates the buildings, casting a warm and inviting glow on the picturesque street.
