Cat Cocktail – Cat art by Dora Hathazi Mendes is a bright, colourful painting about a mixture of cats with different colours, patterns, motifs representing the diversity of this amazing animal species. Cats are in all different patterns, such as striped, floral, dotted, checked, in front of densely decorated background in the idea of “horror vacui” which in visual art mean the “fear of the empty”, thus filling of the entire surface of the artwork with details, in this case bronze mosaic, organic ornaments, floral motifs, star, dots, silver and black chess filed, and a silhouette of a cat’s head.
